BONSERNEWS.com – The DKI Jakarta Environment Agency (DLH) said that there will be sanctions in the form of fines for vehicle users who do not carry out emission tests. The ticket fine is Rp. 250,000 for motorbikes and Rp. 500 for cars.
“This activity is the starting point for implementing three important policies to ensure that all motorized vehicles in Jakarta meet the exhaust emission threshold as an effort to improve air quality,” said Head of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency Asep Kuswanto, Wednesday, July 7, 2023.
One of the three policies mentioned is a ticket sanction based on the Traffic Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.

Another one is the implementation of a parking disincentive for vehicles that do not carry out emission tests. This is called according to DKI Governor Regulation Number 66 of 2020 concerning Motor Vehicle Exhaust Emission Tests.
Meanwhile, the final policy is the implementation of the Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) fine coefficient according to PP 22/2021 concerning Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management. This tax fine will target vehicle owners who have not yet carried out an emissions test when paying the PKB.

“These three policies will encourage massive emission tests and have an impact on improving air quality in the capital city,” said Asep.
Meanwhile Polda Metro Jaya, as the party carrying out law enforcement for traffic violators, said that fines for residents who do not carry out vehicle emission tests are still in the socialization stage.
“Currently it’s still socializing first. There’s no ticketing yet. So they were told if they had to do an emissions test,” said Head of Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Jhoni Eka Putra,
