BONSERNEWS.com – The latest earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 5.0 rocked the Doi Island region, North Halmahera, North Maluku (Malut). The earthquake was centered at sea.

Based on the BMKG report, the earthquake occurred on Friday (30/6/2023). The earthquake occurred at 19.29 WIT.

“Earthquake Mag: 5.0,” said the BMKG report via its Twitter account.

BMKG also reported the location of the earthquake at 3.60 north latitude and 127.94 east longitude. The earthquake was located 146 km northeast of Doi Island.

“Depth: 94 Km,” said BMKG. The impact of the earthquake is not yet known.

However, the BMKG confirmed that this earthquake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami.

“No potential for a tsunami,” said the BMKG.

However, the BMKG still urges residents to be vigilant and careful.
