As a result of this incident, the Brantas train locomotive caught fire and 2 train lines on the Jerakah – Semarang Poncol plot are currently impassable.

“There were no casualties in the incident. The engineer and assistant engineer and the train passengers were declared safe. However, there was damage to facilities, infrastructure and delays in train travel,” said KAI’s VP Public Relations Joni Martinus.
He said that currently, KAI officers assisted by related parties are still evacuating trains and evacuating the wreckage of trucks that are stuck on bridges near level crossings.
KAI is currently making various efforts to normalize railroad tracks so that train trips return to normal.
