BONSERNEWS.com – Seconds of the chronology of the septic tank exploding on Jalan Anggrek, Tempe District, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi, Friday (7/7/2023), heard by residents.
One resident, Anto Prakas, said that the explosion sounded loud.
A number of residents who were doing activities outside the house that afternoon, immediately ran after the explosion sounded.

They thought the sound was coming from an exploding gas cylinder.
“Yesterday, the average person was still active outside the house, and when the incident occurred, many residents ran away because they thought the gas cylinder exploded so they were afraid of a fire, even though it was a septic tank,” he said.
This incident resulted in one person being injured.

At that time, the victim with the initials YS (26) was defecating (BAB) in a boarding house. YS is suspected of defecating while smoking.
Until Sunday (9/7/2023), the victim was still being treated at the Lamaddukelleng General Hospital (RSUD), Wajo.
YS reportedly suffered serious burns. The victim’s family, Aidil, said that the victim’s condition began to improve.
“Alhamdulillah, I’m feeling better, but I’m still in intensive care,” he said.
The septic tank explosion in Wajo is being investigated by the police.
Wajo District Police Chief (Kapolres) AKBP Fatchur Rochman explained, the explosion was allegedly triggered by the victim’s lighter.
