“In July and August we will select players who deserve to be in the U-17 team. After that, we will send them abroad to undergo training camps as well as conduct trials with European, Asian, African and other countries. The goal is that they won’t be surprised when they face tough teams,” PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir said.
Erick Thohir also confirmed that Bima Sakti would later be accompanied by a coaching team.
The coaching team will later be discussed at the PSSI Exco meeting.
Erick Thohir also hopes that the 2023 U17 World Cup will run smoothly.
Even though when the U-17 World Cup tournament was held, the campaign for the 2024 election had already started.
“We have to start getting used to it and not mix up sports and politics. After all, in that month League 1 was also running, even though the capacity was only 50 percent,” he added.
