BONSERNEWS.com – A sacrificial cow weighing around 350 kilograms went berserk until it fell into the Cipinang River, Dukuh, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta on Wednesday (28/6/2023).
The cow belonging to the Jami Ar Raudhah Mosque which was about to be sacrificed on Thursday (29/6/2023) fell and was trapped for about five hours in the Cipinang River because it could not go up to the mainland.
Chairman of the Committee for Slaughtering Sacrificial Animals at the Jami Ar-Raudhah Mosque, Supriyono, said the cow was released when it was about to be unloaded from the truck to the slaughterhouse at around 10.00 WIB earlier.

“The seller unloaded the cow from the vehicle and it immediately released, maybe because of a technical error when herding it,” said Supriyono.
At the beginning of the incident, the seller and local residents tried to catch the cow. Unfortunately, the attempt was unsuccessful because the cow resisted and kept running.
He even circled around the front yard of a resident’s house until he ran about 50 meters from the initial location and then fell. Luckily, no residents were injured as a result of the incident.

“We were chased by residents, but because this animal was quite wild we finally gave up and fell into the river. At first I thought the seller was responsible (evacuating),” he said.
But because they had not been evacuated until late afternoon, at 16.55 WIB Supriyono asked for help from the ranks of the East Jakarta Fire Management and Rescue Sub-Department.
The evacuation process involved five firefighters by attaching a rope and tripod of evacuation equipment to the cow’s body, then carefully pulling it to land.
After the evacuation process which took place from 17.13 WIB to 18.14 WIB, the cows were evacuated and handed over to the committee for slaughtering the sacrificial animals at the Jami Ar Raudhah Mosque.
“The condition of the cows (after being evacuated) is relatively healthy. Maybe they are weak because earlier from 10.00 WIB they were in the water for too long. God willing, tomorrow at 08.00 WIB we will carry out slaughter,” he said.
